A school app is a great way to improve communication with parents and lower costs, but it also provides a valuable platform for schools to improve parental engagement. Drawing parents’ attention to exciting local or national events which they and their children can share and enjoy is just one example:
Did you know that people in most of England and Wales will hopefully get the chance to see six people flying at 17000 mph over their house this week? That’s right! The International Space Station will be regularly passing over the UK, appearing as a very bright object moving slowly across the night sky.
The space station will arrive from the west and pass in an easterly direction. The first passing after sunset is longer and brighter. While the space station often passes overhead, it can only be seen when we are in darkness but it is in sunshine, which is shortly after sunset or before sunrise.
Why not inform parents of this exciting fact using your school app and include a direct link to the NASA app and website!
